The end of google reader

It’s really quite sad that google is planning to shut down their reader. I’ve been using google reader for as long as I can remember, like since 2007. I’m going to be super sad to see it gone (All of me hopes that in the end it will stay) In order to get ready I’ve started looking at replacement RSS readers, which is a lot harder then you’d think, they either cost money or are based on google reader. Also since the news a lot of other people are now also on the hunt for a new RSS reader, silly google, you say that there’s been a declined in use yet all other sites are crashing from the over flow.

Now you might noticed that on my list I have 3 blogs, the very top one is my original blog which I had while doing the games degree, the reason why it’s still on my feed and not removed because (and this is one of the big reasons I loved reader) I could still view my old blog via reader despite the fact that the website that once hosted that blog is long gone. So once google reader is gone I’m worried my old Blog will be gone with it, so over the next few months I think I’ll be uploaded old entries from Blog of Biccy to here. I’ll be using the tag “Blog of biccy” to stop any confusing… I hope… I just want to be able to keep a history of my work/life.

End of Biccy Blog

Hello Biccy here, I’m sad to say that in January 2011 Blog of Biccy was shut down. My Brother who had been hosting the blog decided he no longer wanted his domain name and the blog was lost.

All these Blog of Biccy posts have been uploaded once more to this “new” blog to keep track of all the work I have done since 2008 when I started Blog of Biccy.

The gap between 2011 to end of 2012 can be filled via my tumblr

Anyways welcome to the new blog; Big Dreams for Little Biccies.
or just Little Biccies for short.

Happy 2011

2010 was a very busy year, aims for this year is to draw more and update this blog more (yeah yeah I know I said that last year XP)
Towards the end of last last life got a little strange and a lot of things happen. I didn’t have time to blog but hopefully I’ll do better this year.

I spent most of last year learning and using a bunch of new tools I’ve some what forgotten how to use one of my old ones ^^; So the goal for this month is to re learn how to draw with my tablet.

No drawings this week, I was busy cutting up paper and making birthday cards :P

A while ago I bought a set of scissors, I guess it’s more of a set of blades then scissors. It’s a pair of scissors with a bunch of attachment blades. It’s basically a set of them crazy scissors that cut in funny patterns and what not. (Coz I know what I’m talking about) I found them at smiggle for like 15 bucks.

Coz cutting in straight lines is for sissies!

They come in handy when making pretty birthday cards :D

I like to make cards over buying them when I have the time and am inspired to making something :D

I just wish I was better are writing stuff in them. Tho lately I think I’ve been getting better at putting random text in cards

Melody Calls

Kingdom hearts would have to be the fandom I got the most into. In 2003 I created Melody, an original character for the kingdom hearts universe :P (Ah so geeky so geeky) It’s amazing how much I still remember all the effort I had placed in creating Melody from the characters I based her design on to the back story and how it would match up with the actual kingdom hearts time line.

After drawing Melody again after all these years I can’t help but think… Why did I draw so many bits of chain?

Gunslinger Kelly

I think this is the longest time I’ve ever spent on a drawing, but it was manly due to the on and off-ness, each night I would spend a little time adding more to the drawing

The blue thing on her belt is her mask, I actually forgot to draw it on her face and I liked her expression too much to draw over it.

de Blob: The underground

So E3, a freaking huge video game conference has just happen. The announcements of many games and surprises. Game news pretty much flooded over and made us little geeks such happy things. There are things that I’m looking forward to very much (portal2 and kirby yarn are some must gets for me)

In the weeks leading up to E3, bluetongue; manly the team I was in was very busy with getting our demo ready in time and making it look awesome.

So I guess it’s no real surprises that a second blob game is to be released, our surprises was that it’ll be across all 3 platforms, wii, PS3 and Xbox360. (blob in HD omg!)19

For any of you who don’t know what de blob is it’s a game about a colourless world and you play as a blob who has the ability to soak up paint and colour the world pretty, free monochrome citizens and defeate the evil I.N.K.T corporation.

I think it was in my first year of uni when some kids from bluetongue had come over to RMIT to show us de blob, it was amazing and to be working on it’s squeal it almost mind blowing. I’m quite lucky to be sitting next to two amazing level designers, it gives me joy to know that one of them use to be an intern as well. :)

de blob was an amazing games, but the squeal just blows it away. And I’m not just saying this coz I’ve been working on it. It really is. When I compare the two games I sit there in shocked in how much the game has gotten better yet it’s still for the same platform.

de blob: the underground is a game that’s been made from love and lols. And I’m so happy that I get to add my own love and lols into the mix of it all.
